Christina-

If you're planning on staying at the Hotel Amadeus anytime during Semana Santa beginning April 3rd, there's a 4 night minimum and the prices are much higher:
Standard double room using as single: 132E
Superior double room: 156E
Attic room: 156E
Junior Suite: 210E
+7% taxes

I'm going to be in Sevilla for Semana Santa also as a solo traveler so I contacted the Hotel Amadeus and these were the quoted prices. Unfortunately, out of my range. You need to make your reservation ASAP as rooms will fill up quickly. I also visited Sevilla last year during Semana Santa. I didn't make my reservation until late January and tried numerous hotels with no luck on availability. I ended up at the Hotel Alcantara for about 110 euros a night. It was in a great location and very clean but didn't have the charm that I've read so much about at the Hotel Amadeus.

You may be surprised how late you may stay out even as a solo traveler during Semana Santa! Processionals go until 2-3 a.m. and all night on Maudy Thursday. There are people on the streets at all hours and I felt very safe. I enjoyed watching the processionals as they returned to their home church - much more intimate of a feeling than watching near the cathedral (in my opinion) and didn't get back to my hotel until the wee hours of the a.m.!

You are definately in for a very special experience visiting Spain at this time.

hi, I knew the prices as I had gotten a quote already and they were fine with me, except the suite during Santa Semana. I actually am not going to be there during Santa Semana, but the week before, I am leaving on Palm Sunday. I know that seems nuts to many who go for that, but it just turned out that way due to other commitments I have. I would have to pay that higher rate for one night, Sat. 3 april, I think.

OH, Maribel, I thought you'd seen it, too bad for me. I wasn't referring to your comment about the suite not being worth it, but in your post describing your tour, you said that the atico and jr. suite were worth the extra splurge (that is from the post quoted above by Arikson, at the end). I guess you just meant it was a nice hotel in general, so you thought that price was well worth it for a little splurge as that rate wouldn't be bad for a suite outside Sanata Semana? Well, thanks to all, guess I'll go make up my mind.

oh wow I just noticed your price quotes were in English. I have been corresponding in Spanish and they referred to the room as "atico", not an attic. Perhaps I'm not that fluent in SPanish, but those aren't the same words and I was translating atico as penthouse (attic is desvan or something, as I recall). brian said the jr. suite was an attic room, though.
