We stayed at the Alimandi in 1997. It is a lovely small hotel right next to the Vatican. It was a great price with a great breakfast, but the only thing it was close to was the Vatican. When we returned to Rome last summer, we stayed at the Hotel Genio because it was so well located.

Stayed at the Alimandi in early April 2004 for 4 nights. The staff was the most helpful I've encountered anywhere (travelled throughout the US and limited European stops).
The price was reasonable, our quad surprisingly spacious, everything was VERY clean. The breakfast was incredible (lots of different choices). They have free internet access, a workout room, and an elevator. 4 blocks from a subway stop, 2 blocks from bus stops. Right near the Vatican museum entrance. We had planned on spending 2 full days near the Vatican (were there during Holy Week). We loved it!! Would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat. The shuttle to the airport was a stress-free way to end our trip. Hope this was helpful. |
We stayed there last July and would return. It was very clean and quiet with great air conditioning and a wonderful breakfast on their shaded rooftop. It was very well located for Vatican-area sightseeing. We had originally booked a quad but when we got there they gave us two double rooms across from each other for the same price. Now, I would not call the rooms deluxe - basically furnished and moderate in size - but they suited us fine.

We stayed at the Alimandi in 2001 and loved it. Sooo clean! Not large rooms, but comfortable. The small bar was delightful and taking our drinks to the rooftop after a day of sight-seeing was great. We're going back in October and hoped to stay there, but it was booked!
