Hotel Aleph - Rome

Can anyone please comment on the following:
1.Safety of the area
2.Proximity to restaurants and sights
3.Size and comfort of rooms and bathrooms
4.Overall experience

Thanks for the advice!

There was a recent post about the Aleph and you can find it if you do a search.

The hotel is located about 1 1/2 blocks from the bottom of the Via Veneto

The area is safe IMO

Restaurants are literally within a few minutes walk

Stayed in a standard room the last time...nicely decorated but not huge..beds great..bathroom was fine.

You really should look at the place on the boscolohotels website..it is VERY moderne in decoration, staff all wear black and are VERY helpful and friendly.

It is not a "typical" hotel..if you are in any way a "traditionalist" I would advise staying elsewhere especially if you'd prefer the tourist clogged Spanish Steps or Navonna area of the city.

We have seen all the pictures on-line, and it is definitely what we want. We like the whole modern/contemporary look (had also been interested in Hotel de Russie, Hotel art, etc but they were a little more expensive than the Aleph. We just want to get a feel for all those things that one can't get from a picture or brochure. You know, real life experiences. We have had fair to poor experiences with hotels in Europe and we want to do it right this time. PS - what does IMO stand for??

IMO means "in my opinion".
IMHO means "in my humble opinion"

When we stayed at the Aleph the last time we got the room through an internet discounter. We were pleased with the overall experience and the location..but we LIKE that basic, general location (near the Via Veneto) although many do not.

Danimal, Via Veneto and Piazza Barberini (which is at the end of Via Veneto) is my preference for a hotel location also.

I find it easy to get elsewhere, and maybe I am in a "rut" but if so it sure works for me. Not famaliar with Hotel Aleph however. It does sound like a very interesting hotel.
