Sorry, it's been a while since we were in Paris. But you might add the word "Paris" to your title to generate more responses.

Hi tulip,

Of the three, I think that the Classic Bastille has the best location. Although it is in the 11th, it is not far from a park and is close to a Metro stop.

The Bristol is quite close to the Gare du Nord train station and the Apollo is too close to the Moulin Rouge and the prostitutes.

You can see a map of the area at www.multimap.com.

Get a new travel agent. None of those are convenient for someone travelling with a young child because you will be spending too much time on the subway.

What is your budget? Maybe we can give you better suggestions for a hotel located in the center.

I received a very high recommendation of Dana the Tour Guide in Prague, from friends who took their first trip to Prague May 2003. I hope to use Dana's services for my own trip next year.

this reply keeps coming up in the wrong threads, must be a glitch today

By the way, I think you need another travel agent as well. Go elsewhere here at fodors.com under Destinations, and Paris, and see lots of hotels with rants and raves comments from past guests.

If you need a hotel room to accommodate a crib, don't assume the crib will be available or that there will be room for it without asking first.

I have a file on Paris; if you'd like to see it, email me at
[email protected]

I have two suggestions for you in the Marais area: the Lyon-Mulhouse and the Grand Hotel Jeanne d'Arc. Both are close to the lovely Place des Vosges. See threads about them here

In the 7th, close to the market street rue Cler and the Eiffel Tower (and adjoining park), see http://www.hotel-du-champ-de-mars.com/

Most importantly, all are within your budget.
