Hot chocolate in Paris

The last thread on where to find great hot chocolate in Paris is 4 years old and references this 5-year-old link: www.davidlebovitz.com/2006/10/paris-hot-choco-1/
We'll be in Paris next month and I would like to know if anyone has recommendations besides Laduree or Angelina for your favorite hot chocolate experience--both the venue and the chocolat chaud.

Merci!

Do be aware that "hot chocolate" is more like hot chocolate syrup--the classic one is very thick and easier to spoon out than to drink.

Last time in Angelina (2008) we did not like the ambiance. Very crowded and very noisy, and one of the few places I've been anywhere, r where the server had the nerve to never bring me change from the bill-- assuming i, a sucker tourist, was giving her a 35% tip--for poor service at that. Had to have a word with the mgr.Ah, the look on MIss Thang's face.

Au contraire, we had wonderful hot chocolate at a small relaxing cafe along an alley/passage in the 6th, called L'Heure Gourmand. Check out the exact address.
There's a branch of Laduree not far away in the 6th,....so you could do a taste test, Scootoir!!

Bon appetit!

Cafe Constant on rue St Dominique (7th) is also known for chocolat chaud.

I have seem lots of more than good reviews; including one from D.Levobitz.Of course,Ladurée and angelina are old classics, byt this place seems more modern and really good.
Enjoy and let us know!!!

I find Angelina's undrinkable. My favorite is Le Flore en l’Île, for the taste and the view. Here is the view:

here is someone else who agrees.

Wonderful suggestions and beautiful photo zeppole. I could enjoy drinking chocolate or anything else with that view.

I'll have to start working up a list with the addresses of these locations to take with us. It will be fun exploring.

Shocked to hear the complaints about Angelina -- think theirs is fab, but yes, it is 'known' and perhaps they're no longer trying harder. Hmm. Will keep the above notations. My lunches at Angelina have always been memorable.

Oh my. I hate to hear that about Angelina also. But grateful for the other suggestions! Filing away for next time.

I don't know about other people's complaints about Angelina, but I was not suggesting that it had declined. I personally just can't drink their hot chocolate. I find it sickeningly sweet. I gather it is the same recipe they have been serving since they opened.
