hot chocolate

We had the BEST hot chocolate in Paris with our breakfast at the Fremiet Hotel. What is it about the hot chocolate there that makes it so good? I asked what kind it was but didn't understand--should have had him write it down because I would have loved to have bought some to take home. Some of the places in Paris sell that thick, rich liquid chocolate and while that's good in it's own way, this was different than that.

Try Schokinag, it was my favorite at the Chocolate show in NYC. I like it because it is real chocolate not ground. It is not really sweet, chocolate is the first ingredient not sugar.

My son loved Paris' hot choc. more than what he got in Italy because they served the melted chocolate in a cup with a pitcher of hot milk that he mixed together. It made it much more creamy.

Maybe it was not a mix for hot chocolate, but made with real chocolate, like the one with Valhrona chocolate we had in a cafe on Boulevard St Germain. More like a liquid chocolate bar really! Very nice, but almost a meal in itself.

It wasn't like the hot chocolate at Angelina's or the Chantico at Starbucks. Those are good in their own way, but so rich I could only drink about 2 oz. This was more like traditional hot chocolate, only better. Creamier I think.
