Hi there

I am sorry I can't help with that but were you the fodorite who stayed at La Tavola in Le Marche last year?? Would you mind telling me about it if it was you? Hubby and I are booked to stay there next June! Thanks so much!!!

Ps we loved champagne! We didn't see any ballooningaround epernay though...

Hi, I just noticed your post about La Tavola Marche and yes I am the one who went there. we stayed for 6 nights in July 2010 and it was the best place we have ever stayed in Europe. Jason and Ashley an American couple are amazing hosts and the food that Jason serves is to do die for. I am sure you will have a great time and the location is so beautiful. let me know how you like it.

I've done this in a few places, including in Burgundy (an option offered on a barge trip) and it was lovely. I have no info specific to Champagne, but will add this:

Be aware that the flights are weather dependent; if you get a rainy day, or a day with wind, the flights will be cancelled. Do not schedule your dates too tightly.

Agree with previous post...hot air ballooning is VERY weather dependent. It's a great experience but one I wouldn't get my heart set on. If it's even a bit too windy you won't go!
