Hostels/cheap accomodations Cinque Terre/St Margherita
 

Does anyone know of cheap accomodations (including hostels) in St. Margherita / Portofino/ Cinque Terra? For 30th April - May 4th - I read somewhere about a liberation holiday and it being hard to find accomodations -true?? Looking for range $US 30 / $40 (student rates).

I did end up booking it. Great price and it looks very nice.

Glad you found a place to stay. Be forewarned, however, for a crush of tourists. We were there over Liberation Day weekend two years ago and places, especially Vernazza, were mobbed, mainly with Italian tourists.

We stayed in a hotel in Levanto, but the hostel looked nice. Levanto is a great option for staying in this area: just minutes from the Cinque Terre park by train (or a looong hike), nice beach, good restaurants, nice bars, pretty town to wander in.
