Hostel cheap accomodation in Amalfi
 

Hi all, I am going to be in Amalfi next week, and I am trying to find a descently priced hostel for two. Its pretty expensive there, I know, but thought maybe there would be some ideas here. Thanks!

I don't know how cheap and rustic you want to get, but I got the name of this place from some 20-something relatives of a friend of mine -- I am looking for budget places in the Sorrento area and they mentioned this hostel:
village camping Camogaio Santofortunata.

From their info, it sounds like simple camping trailers in a great beach location. Turned out to be TOO rustic for the girls involved, so they moved into Sorrento after one night. Sounded too rustic for me, too (but hey, I would have stayed there in MY twenties!) Anyway, not in Amalfi, but general area.

the only real Hostel or budget type accommodation near Amalfi is WWW.hostelscalinatella.com in Atrani which is 5 minute walk from Amalfi

Try the website www.italyby.com. I just booked a hotel in Amalfi through them - it's the Hotel Antica Repubblica for $70/night for a single.

a note regarding the hostel in Positano. There is a curfew, back at 24.00. So if you are going to party in Positano skip it.
