Honfleur Accommodation Troubles
I have been having trouble finding accommodations for a family of four in Honfleur. I would like to find either hotel or bed and breakfast in the range of $100-$150. Many places do not have rooms large enough for a family and getting 2 rooms gets very pricey. I am willing to stay outside the city center. Any suggestions?

Try Hotel du Dauphin...they have several rooms that will accommodate a family. Some might be a little cramped if you have two teenagers, but they officially accommodate 4 people. The hotel is very well located and clean...it does have an extremely narrow, windy staircase, but that's the only negative and probably one shared by other Honfleur hotels.

Dauphin is very central. We stayed there about 10 years ago and found it to be more than adequate...it is across form the wooden church. We had a triple room , and at the time its was $80 in francs. We parked in public parking one block away. Easy access in and out of town.

It's kind of a small hotel/bed and breakfast, and they do have a suite which can accommodate 4 people. Very helpful, friendly owners and great location in town. |
We stayed here, at Le Cheval Blanc, about four years ago and found it very pleasant. Central location, and they have rooms for up to five. http://www.hotel-honfleur.net/GB_hotel.asp

Thanks for the replies. I have emailed both Hotel du Dauphin and La Cour Sainte Catherine (giaglis.com) a few days ago with no response. Also Le Cheval Blanc was 150 euros which is a little over budget.
Maybe my question should be - how do you get a response from the hotels. |
Our family stayed at the Le Cheval Blanc and also thought that it was centrally located in the middle of the town for walking around and eating. The price was really decent and the accomodations were wonderful!

Apparently, you need to be patient with French hotels. I emailed a reservation to a couple of hotels on a Wednesday or Thursday and didn't hear back until Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week.
BTW, I know that Le Cheval Blanc is out of your stated budget range but that is where I am staying the nights of Oct 3 and 4. Have a great trip! |
If you want reservations within next month or so, I'd call them, early in the day here in USA.
