Honeymoon-Provence hotel suggestions?

We are planning to start our trip with two nights in Paris, then train down to Provence for 6-7 days then three days in Cote d'Azur.
Any suggestions for hotels? In Paris we are looking for a 3-4 star no more than 135 per night. In Provence we are looking for a three star but hoping to spend no more than 100 per night. We are looking for nice rooms with charachter but not too fancy for Provence

you're reaching for the stars, I'm afraid. Three stars? Double it.

Beth- For Paris, do a text search here (3* Paris hotels). Fodorites like the Rue Cler area where there are lots of hotels to chose from. Be forewarned that at this price the rooms will tend to be very small.
For Provence, I think you have to decide in what town you'd like to stay or do you plan on moving around?
On the coast, if you don't care about a pool or beach (you don't say what time of year you're going) I can recommend staying at the Hotel Welcome in Villefranche.
Beth
Try the Hotel Arene in Orange. Good prices and a great location for day trips into the Provence area. Stayed there a year ago or so and loved it. Fits into your price range. Enjoy!
