I've narrowed towns to San Sebastian, Madrid/Toledo, Barcellona, Seville.<BR><BR>Any more advise not already posted is great

For Seville:<BR><BR>If you want to see some flamenco, the best is El Arenal. Yes, it´s touristy,<BR>but there aren´t many good places for flamenco in town and they are all full of foreigners. However, this one is great, when I have family from out of town we always go there. It´s a little<BR>more expensive than the other places like Los Gallos, but much better, and you can have dinner there if you want to.<BR><BR>Also, there is a new invention in Seville, it´s an audiotour of the city<BR>that describes all the sights, historic district, legends, stories, etc. You<BR>reserve it at all main hotels, its narrated in beautiful english, with a great spanish classical music background<BR>and lots of good info. It comes with a <BR>special cd player you rent from the hotel, a set of double earphones to <BR>listen in couples and a Seville t-shirt.<BR>It runs about 4 hours and you can do it<BR>at your own pace, works like the museum audiotours. You keep the CD, and it is also a cd rom with info on Seville. <BR>It costs about $18. <BR><BR>I have used it to know if I can recomend it to my hotel´s guests and I<BR>think it´s a great idea if you don´t want to book a guided tour and go with <BR>a bungh of people, or go with a private <BR>guide that will cost you a fortune.<BR><BR>If anyone has tried it already, could you post your comments?<BR><BR>Thanks,

My husband and I went to Spain last January. The Parador Toledo was incredible!! It is perched on a hill overlooking the city. Make sure you eat the Mazapanes (marzipan) from the lokal bakeries. We only stayed in Madrid for one night--at the Palace. Wow! It was superb. We rented a car and drove to Andalus&iacute;a. Seville is fantastic, but I would also reccomend Granada.<BR><BR><BR>

San Sebastian:<BR><BR>Is an elegant and modern city. It is built around La Concha Bay, which is sorrounded by Monte Igueldo and Monte Urgull. The first one is a must, it has excellent views to the Bay. Rigth on the other side of La Concha is the City Hall, the Alderdi-Eder Gardens and the Boulevard a promenading area and the way into the city´s old part "Parte Vieja". This is the social point because of its rich and variated choice of restaurants and pintxos/tapas bars.<BR><BR>My recommendation for a hotel would be Hotel Maria Cristina (5*), perfect for a honeymoon.<BR><BR>One of the attractions of visiting San Sebastian is its gastronomy, some of the best restaurants in Spain can be found here. From the most expensive and refined type of restaurants characterised by Modern Basque Cuisine (Arzak, Akellare, Zuberoa)to pintxo bars (old part).<BR><BR>I hope this helps, Jerry, but if you need more information do not doubt to email me!

We spent are honeymoon in Spain last JUne and ended up spending all but our Madrid nights at Paradors. They were amazing we thought we were on lifestyles of the rich and famous. We booked as we got to each city through the front desk of the parador we were stayiing at. We ate at their amazing restaurants. Rooms usually endedup costing 85-120 USD. Try to get rooms with balconies they cost about 10 USD more but well worht it. Have a great time. I would forget Venice. Its overated. But definately save the rest of Italy for another trip.

Since you have narrowed your choices...While you are in Madrid, I highly recommend Hotel Villa Real. We stayed there a couple of months ago (got a $99 rate on Expedia.com), I thought it was too good to be true, but the Hotel is beautiful, with an amazing location. Don't miss Toledo, I would skip the tour bus, we took the train (very, very easy to do).<BR>If your fiance wants to see Venice, I would do it while you are here. Airfares across Europe are cheaper than in the states, and it would probably only add a few hundred Euros to the trip (plus accomadation). Check Expedia, but also www.lastminute.com. <BR><BR>Have a blast.

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Spain recently. We visited Barcelona and flew from there to Andalusia to visit many of the towns and cities. My co-worker from Spain suggests you choose to see either Madrid or Barcelona and then travel throughout Andulusia as we did. We highly recommend the Paradors (they have a terrific website) for relaxed countryside settings. Paradors: We stayed in Ubeda (olive groves galore -- very rural and charming), Carmona (outside Seville perched high on a hill), Nerja (formerly relaxed beach town now overrun by British retirees). Hotels: In Seville we stayed at the Hotel Alfonse. It is glorious and definitely worth the price, particularly considering the exchange rate! Our room was a Moorish extravaganza and the location is perfect. We also visited Marbella on the Costa del Sol and stayed at the serene Puente Romano hotel. It had beautiful pools, beach, was very private and romantic. It is a great place to finish up your trip and is accessible to international airport in Malaga.<BR><BR>We drove throughout Andulsia and had no problems other than some humourous language snafus and parking nightmares in Granada. All the towns we visited required only about 1-2 hours' drive. The topography changes dramatically from one area to the next.<BR><BR>Our strongest recommendation is Granada, and the remarkable Alhambra. If you can book a room at the Parador there, you will be very fortunate. It truly is a magical and memorable place with lots of students and gypsies. Seville is a lively party town with lots to do. Barcelona is unique, with great nightlife, but you need only spend 2-3 days there and you will have seen most everything.<BR><BR>We have traveled throughout Europe. My first choice will always be Italy, but Spain was incredibly interesting from a cultural standpoint,had dramatic scenery, nice people and was a good value. Best wishes.
