Honeymoon In Paris enroute to US from India

I am travelling from India to US (Raleigh) via Paris around Christmas 2000 and would like to have a Honeymoon at Paris and Burgundy/Loire Valley.

How would it be at that time ? What are "Must See" ? Any advice on hotels/chateaux/restraunts ?

Would there be any fireworks in Paris on Christmas eve?

I really appreciate advice.

Dear Rahul
I have notes on Paris; if you would like to see them, email me.
It will be easier for people to make suggestions for you if you can provide us with some idea of how much time you will have, what your budget is for restaurants and hotels, and what kinds of things you would like to see
(art museums, historic sites, shopping, etc).

Hotel de l'Abbaye in the 7th Ar. in Paris--we stayed there for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. Excellent room service, too!

This would be the first time I would be visiting Paris. So i do not have much idea.
I would be stopping for 6 nights and 7 days. I plan 3-4 nights in Paris and 2-3 nights in the countryside. I am kind off planning for a max $300 per day on Hotel/Food. The lower the better
I am interested in a river cruise, famous sites, romantic resteraunts/cafes, walks etc. Wouls any of the monuments, museums be open on Christmas day ?
