Honeymoon in October

Is the weather good anywhere for a 3 week trip to Italy from October 12-30? Waht is the temperature at that time in Florence, Rome, Venice and Positano? Anywhere hot in Europe at that time?

My husband and I celebrated our 1st anniversary in Italy last October. We found the weather to be wonderful for touring and exploring. Daytime highs in Venice, Florence and Rome were 60-70, cooler at night. We also visited Sorrento (not too far from Positano) and the daytime highs were 70-75. We experienced only 1 day of rain in our 2 week trip.
Have fun and do taste everything. Especially the gelato!

P&V -
I think October is a lovely time to visit Italy. As Juliana says, the cities further north (Florence & Venice) are a bit cooler than the south (Amalfi Coast/Positano).
When you're asking whether anyplace in Europe at that time is "hot", are you seeking warmer temps or wanting to avoid them? Generally, mid-October is a pleasant time to visit most of Western Europe. The closer you are to the Mediterranean (& further south), the warmer it is (as with theAmalfi Coast). I don't know that I'd characterize anyplace as 'too hot', but then again, I'm living in Texas with daily summertime temps in the 90's, so you've got to consider individual perspectives.
Go to www.cnn.com and check their weather info. It includes forecasts and historical weather data for major cities. Based on personal experience, I agree with those above that October is the perfect month for those cities.

Hi,

We have done most of out trips to Italy in October and will be there this year from Oct. 5 - Nov.4. If beach weather is what you're looking for, you stand a good chance along the Amalfi Coast, an even better chance in Sicily. Most tourists have not caught on to how fascinating Sicily is. There are lovely beaches, dramatic mountains, charming small towns and countryside, and GREAT food. To top it all off, because it is less touristed, prices, especially for accomodations, are much more reasonable. One year we were in Agrigento at the beginning of Nov. and it was 95. We abandoned visiting the ruins for the lovely pool in the gardens of Villa Athena. Taormina is a breathtakingly romantic town, with a lovely beach below. Erice, Siracusa, Trapani, Cefalu, and many other towns fascinating. E-mail me directly for more information. Ciao and Buon Viaggio.
