Honeymoon in November in France
 

Hi - We have 3 full days in France for a honeymoon in lateNovember. Tickets are convenient into Paris. Should I consider seeing South of France and skip Paris in November?

I have seen most of the touristy things in Paris. My fiance has not, he will only want to see the Eiffel tower only and wants to keep it more relaxed.

Does Nice die down very early in November and all the touristy spots in South of France shut at that time.?

November is not the best time to visit the south of France. Days are short, it can be rainy. And you don't really have enought time to get there and get back and still have time for a honeymoon.

Stay in Paris. Three days is no time at all. There is so much to do in Paris.

I have visited Paris in January and it was rainy and cold and I am expecting similar weather in November as well. Am I correct?

I would stay away from that area in winter. That's when the mistral is strongest. Winds with gusts of 90 km/hr, with steady winds of 50 km/hr.

If it's not too late on tickets, I would say Rome at that time of year. I've been in December and greeted with lovely weather.

for a honeymoon, i think i would want somewhere that neither of you had been to before.

Venice or Rome would be good.

We spent the week of Thansgiving inParis last year. Very little rain, mild temps and no crowds! Virtually no lines to wait in and less crowded restaurants, hell, there was no line at Berthillon! We enjoyed it.

I sure wouldn't go to the south of France for a honeymoon or anything else at that time of year. It's cold, you've got the Mistral and rain, it's bleak, and things are shut down. Go to Paris and stay there - you have an incredibly short amount of time as it is.

Paris will be rainy, cold, dark and dreary. You may stand that if you spend your time in museums. But on the Eiffel Tower, it will be terrible.

If you want to catch some decent weather, go to the Cote d'Azur. In November, it will be still pleasant. The Mistral will not reach there.

We spent a the first week in December in Paris in 2008 and had one rainy day. Not cold, and not crowded. Stay in Paris>

Have been to Paris many times in November and yes there may be a few days of rain, but we usually have pleasant skies and cool weather. Even in Dec we only had a few days of rain.

Definitely stay in Paris, 3 days is not alot and there are tonnes of things to do there.

I've also been to Paris many times in November, including for my honeymoon. It can be cool & rainy, true, but for me the lack of crowds and lower rates for lodging, airfare, etc. more than make up for that.

We don't want to do the museums or anything touristy at all for the hoenymoon. Is there a hotel recommendation? and what neighborhood where there are lots of cafes?

Our budget is between $300 to $500 per night.

Hmmm...if I had that kind of money to pay for a hotel in a city where you can find a VERY nice hotel for under $200 a night, I'd extend my trip by about a week and use the money for that.

I wish my boss would give me leave!!! :)
