Karmen... Greece belongs to the warmest countries of Europe, with Crete/Gavdos being the most southern point of Europe.
OP said they didn't want cold or wet weather.. and you are recommending skiing?
Bulgaria in the winter is extremely cold anyway.....
and besides if they want to visit Turkey and Greece they can go skiing there as well....

Maybe Malta and somewhere in Italy, like Sicily. I was in Malta in early February and the weather was mild, about 10C -15C (50F -60F), with some rain but no deluges. January and February weather are similar, but February is less rainy.
I like Malta, but it is one of those places that people tend to either love or hate, very little in-between. It's quiet, though, and accommodations are reasonable, so since you are looking for privacy it might fit the bill for one of the weeks.

Sicily is close by, and although it won't be cold, it can get cool and rainy in January.http://www.bestofsicily.com/weather.htm
Another option is Spain. Beautiful Seville is my favorite Spanish city.

I agree, though, that January is not a great month to visit Europe if you don't want cold or wet weather. Good luck to you.

Even though Malta is a very nice country, i can't imagine spending there 2 weeks especially in the winter, when it is going to be a bit boring for such a long time..
as for warm weather, maybe the Canary Islands would be an option...
