honeymoon in italy

My fiance and I are thinking of honeymooning in Amalfi and or Sardinia in October. We love the beach and love boating. We are from the Cape Cod area and are use to sandy beaches. Just not sure how we would like Rocky beaches. Also, do you think 10 days is enough time? I also would love some suggestions on where to stay. We would like to keep the cost around $5500 including airfare.

Have a look at this trip report:

The poster was very taken by Sardinia.

You can find more posts by looking for <Sardinia> (without the carets) in the Search Box.

And my guess is that Sardinia is much cheaper than the Amalfi Coast.

Hi CG,

Also enter "amalfi coast" (with the quotes) in the "search this forum" box.

10 days on the AC would give you time to visit Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri and Paestum as well as enjoy the AC.

You might like to stay at the Le Sirene in Praiano. It is not lavish, but room #12 has a beautiful view and a large private balcony. About 90E/night.

Just so you're aware - October is not really swimming weather on the Amalfi Coast. Not sure about Sardinia.

Thanks for your help. I am going to go read the trip report now. This is such a tough decision for us. We love to travel and really want our honeymoon to be special.
