honeymoon in italy

Hi all,

We just got a sample itinerary from our travel agent and I wanted to get your input on the hotels that she suggested, and see if you had any other good options...

Rome: Priscilla Hotel
Sorrento: Crowne Plaza Stabiae Hotel
Capri: Hotel Mamela
Florence: Plaza Lucchesi Hotel
Venice: Hotel Kette

Thanks!

Hi! Hotel Priscilla, good position , but very simple, probably you want to choose something else for your honeymoon.
Hotel Mamela on Capri is great!Hotel Crown Plaza in sorrento is 11 km from sorrento, the plus of this hotel is that it has a free beach, but it is far away from everything, even though in summer there is a train that will bring you from the hotel to Sorrento or to Pompei and Naples. Good luck!

Also, the Priscilla Hotel seemed very far away from the colosseum, forum, vatican, etc. Does anyone know of a hotel that will be somewhat to close to all those areas, PLUS other things like spanish steps, trevi founatin, good shopping/dining? (i went to rome years ago but have no clue where all these things are so forgive me if i'm not making sense.)

Ditto Bob,

You are visiting Venice, Florence and Rome - why the AC and Capri instead of the Cinque Terre?

Flying into where and out of which?

What is the AC? Don't even know what Cinque Terre is.

We are working with a travel agent because we think it will be much easier than booking everything on our own.

Hi Mic,

Welcome to the group.

We can help you. Italy is very easy to do.

What are your dates?

What is your budget?

What is it that you want to see?

Great info from Bob.

PS, at the risk of embarrassing him, "he is very good".

The Crowne Plaza is on the coast road in Castellamare all by itself. Look for something in Sorrento proper. Sorry, I don't have any particular hotels to suggest but I know I wouldn't recommend a stay at that hotel based on location alone.
