honeymoon in belgium-france-switzerland
Hiya,
We are planning a honeymoon in Begium(dont know what city!!), France (Paris) and Switzerland between 15th-25th/30th May. We are thinking a couple of days in Belgium, couple of days in Paris and the rest of the time in Switzerland. We need ideas and suggestions at the moment and would be really really pleased with whatever help we could get from you. I am desperate for any help as my fiance is busy and has left all the planning to me and here aint much time left!!!!!

It would help us to know more about you. What are your interests? Why did you choose these three places. What do you like to do on vacation? Once you give us something to go on we can provide more help.
I recommend starting with some good guide books, seeing what interests you and then posting some specific questions that we can provide help with.

I would think twice about spending only two days in Paris and Belgium. The problem is that travelling between locations uses up your time. Belgium...assuming you land with jet lag, that first day there is a bit of a blur, plus you need to get to hotel , check-in, lunch..then you start touring. (I assume by Belgium you mean one city and not the country?). Then, next day you get one full day. Next day, train to Paris. Time getting there, find hotel, check-in,etc...
On a short trip, multiple locations create the 'blur effect'. Best to consider the 'less is more' philosophy. For such a short trip, I would do at most two locations for 10 days, 3 for 15 days.

Do your self a favor and stay in Switzerland.
OR
A week in CH and a week in Paris
OR
Visit Paris with a couple of daytrips to France.

Hiya
@Jamikins
First, I want to thanks you for replying. About us, my fiance wants to just relax and laze(But, he definitely wants to go to the louvre!) However I like places where I may wander about, with a lot of culture. I also like picturesque places and wining and dining is also up there on our list. So my endeavor is to balance and not do too much of sightseeing but some, at the least! Also, we want places with moderate climate.. I cant take very hot climate and my fiance cant take very cold temperatures. But, cold is definitely better than hot!!
Will pick up those guide books as sugested by you. In the meanwhile if there is any more inormation required to help me with this, please do lemme know..

Hiya,
Thank you for the reply. Its been most useful to put things in perspective. You are also correct in assuming I meant just 1 place in Belgiun and not the entire country!! Should have been more precise, I guess. I'll take your advise and do 3 for 15 days! Any suggestions on the 3 locations?!!
xx

Based on your interests I would pick Bruges or Brussels, Paris and somewhere in Berner Oberland. I will let someone that has spent time in Switzerland provide info there.
Paris sounds like a perfect place and to be honest I would drop Belgium and spend more time there. Moving around eats up money and time. I would do a week in Paris (you can do side trips to Versaille, Chartres, Reims, Dijon, Nancy, Giverny etc if you want variety). Then you can train to Switzerland and spend time there.
You can do some site seeing and then hit a cafe and eat delicious food in Paris and then see some gorgeous scenary in Switzerland, maybe some hikes etc.
Fly into one and out of the other to save yourself from backtracking.
Hope this gets you started!

For the perfect Brugge honeymoon B&B I would highly recommend Cote Canal. M<y wife and I were there for our 30th wedding anniversary and we felt like honeymooners! Brugge is a beautiful city with excellent restaurants. It can easily be seen in 2-3 days. Paris is a magical city, so to spend just a couple of days there would be a slap in the face of Aphrodite herself. To do Paris, you really need 5 days. I would save Switzerland for an anniversary. But that's just me! Have a wonderful honeymoon!

If you go to Belgium, be sure and go to Pierre Marcolini for chocolate. A genetically thin friend was there without a job for 2 years and spent her days finding the best chocolate in Brussels and mailing it home. Pierre Marcolini was by far the best, to us.
