Honeymoon Help
 

Help! My fiancee and I are planning our honeymoon for the summer of next year. We would like to go for two weeks maximum and go to two or three romantic spots that still have plenty of things to do. We will definitely be traveling in July and August. So far, we have thought of the French Riviara, Rome, ect. Please help us in our planning! Thanks!

not to be a bummer, but july and august are perhaps the two worst months to do europe. it can get very hot and is always crowded with student tourists and vactioning europeans.

if you can put it off until september (preferrably later in the month), that would help. that said, if you must go during summer, make it as early in july as possible. a lot of europeans close up shop in august for their own vacations.

Scandinavia is not that crowded in the summer and the climate is usually pleasant then with beautifully long summer days. I know it's way different than the places you mentioned, though. Scotland or the English countryside might be good too. St. Petersburg maybe? I hate extreme heat, so it would be torture for me to go to the spots you mention at the times you mention.

I agree with Willtravel on going to cooler places in July/August.

Scotland and Scandinavia could be very nice.

We've been to the French Riveria and Rome in July and August because it's the only time we can go. Yes, it's hot, no, the AC isn't as good as at home, but we've still had great trips, so don't be put off!

However, to answer your post, we really need more information. What are your interests? What is your nightly budget?

I agree with Weadles.

Yes, it's nice to go when the weather is perfect (not to cold and not to hot) and also when there are people there (don't want to be lonely) but not over-crowed, etc.

You go when you are able and for as long as is practical.

Some people say you shouldn't go to Rome if you only have 2 days. I say I can see Rome in a day and enjoy it without rushing. You just make certain rules.

Go when you plan for the amount of time you are able and enjoy yourself!!!
