Honeymoon Help
Hi Everyone!
My fiance and I are in the process of planning our honeymoon and we can't decide where to go. We want it to be very romantic and something that we wouldn't do on an average vacation. Ideally, we would like a place where we can lie on the beach (if desired) but also see some sights.

I was thinking Greece or Italy. Any suggestions? I'm open to anything! However, it will be my husband's first time abroad.

Thanks for your help!

BTW, we are coming from NYC and we have 2 weeks.

What month? and why do YOU think that you want to go to Europe?

Personally, if beaches are at the top of the list, I think that it is hard to beat the beaches of the United States (including Hawaii), Latin America and the Caribbean.

I suspect that most honeymooners to Greece have a great time, and find darn close to what you are seeking.

But knowing WHY you think you want to go to europe at all would be a big help in advising you - - not merely Greece vs Italy - - but these two vs France or Spain or Malta, etc.

Whatever your choice(s), congratulations on your new life in marriage!

Best wishes,

Rex
Isn't love wonderful. So you say you are open to anything. Go to the local Best Western and save the money for a house downpayment.

Sorry that everyone can be so mean. Congrats on your engagement!
I spent 10 days in Italy for my honeymoon, so I'm a little biased. I've been to Greece too and it's fun but very different from Italy. It depends on how important the beach aspect is to you. If it's very important, go to Greece. If not go to Italy, it's more romantic.
Start in Venice, then take the train to Florence. Then go to Rome and the Amalfi coast with a stop in Pompeii. If you're brave, rent a car, it's not much different than driving in NYC and will give you more flexibility.
You can't go wrong with Italy.

Go to San Sebastian in Spain - great beach, great city - old section and new - great fiesta in August - unbelieveable fireworks.

Agree with Spain.
Another vote for Spain.
