Honeymoon help!!!!!!!!
 

You all give such great advice, I could not help post....We are going to France on our honeymoon next week and are SO excited. It will be our first time there. We are spending three days driving Normandy, staying in Honflur, and taking in the WW2 history (my husband is extremely into this). Then we're off to Paris for three days where no doubt, my ambitious, energetic husband will again have us up early and out late wanting to cram in as many exhibits and tours as possible. I do love his energy, but with all the things he wants to do, we'd need months to take it in. I, on the other hand, prefer a more rounded, relaxing approach to travel. I hope for a cultural experience with an overview of the major sites but also plenty of time for walks through the parks, the food markets, sitting in cafe's, the theatre, etc. I'd love anyone's advice on how to best map out our time to do both...

Harness that energy of his and get out there and see the sites for a few hours early in the day. Of course, it IS your honeymoon, so hopefully there will be a few mornings that start with... ahem... eye-openers...<BR><BR>Then, persuade him to slow down and smell the roses in the afternoons. Kara,<BR><BR>Congratulations! I hope you enjoy yourself. To round out your crazy touring - make sure you linger over steaming cappucinos and croissants in the morning and every afternoon take in a happy hour somewhere to drink a few glasses of house wine at a corner bistro. Just sit there and people watch. This will take the pace down a notch or two and will probably be the memories you treasure most.<BR><BR>Enjoy your special time together - my husband and I went to France and Italy and we often chat about the magical time we had together.<BR><BR>Enjoy your wedding too!

Congratulations on your upcoming honeymoon! Is there anyway you can extend it at least a few more days in Paris? I was there for 10 days and still didn't see it all. That would be my only advice if it's at all possible...you are barely going to scratch the surface with only 3 days in Paris. I hope you have a wonderful trip! Mary

Hi,<BR><BR> You will make your husband a happy man by allowing him to visit Normandy. For a WWII buff, it doens't get any better. It was the highlight of the trip for me when my wife and I spent a day visiting the beaches where the Americans landed. Be sure that you visit Omaha Beach. It will change your outlook on life. It was an experience I will never, ever forget. When you visit Pointe du Hoc, where the Rangers scaled 80' cliffs to take out huge guns, you will understand the debt all American owe to the men who made the landings. Have Fun and your husband will love you for allowing him some extra time to walk along Omaha Beach!
