Homeaway.com - Thoughts on this property

Just curious what everyone thinks about homeaway.com in general and, more specifically, what you think of this particular property:

If you don't have knowledge of this particular property, thoughts on the location and the owner would be welcome.

I will be traveling in early December and am looking to stay in an area that has markets so I can cook some meals, great restaurants and metro access.

Thanks for any help you might be able to offer!

I didn't see that it said what floor was on..or I missed it. The reviews all seemed ok..except a bit by one that the owner responded to.

Home Away and vrbo are sister companies..home away is the parent company, I believe.

Don't know the exact location but you can google it. My only question would be if there is a living room - or it's only a second bedroom - and what floor is it on. It seem to have skylights which could mean a 5th or 6th floor walk up - and that's someting I would want to know.

It's on the French first floor - so American Second floor.

You might try reposting by putting Paris apartment in your title. And it does look like there's no living room - but the description says it could be a living room - can you clarify with the owner?

Have a great time!

Homeaway.com is an advertising site that lets you rent direct from the owner. Sometimes the owner is an agent, and sometimes and owner who is just someone letting out there own property. Sometimes they will live nearby, and sometimes in another country, but will have made arrangements locally for key holding and cleaning.
The apartment you are looking at has pretty good reviews, and a couple of slight negatives have been answered by the owner.

The apartment seems very nice and is certainly in an excellent location within Paris for the Left bank, shopping and general mooching around. Would work best as a max 2 occupancy I would imagine - as for homeaway.com I think they are good at what they do and have a broad offering. I have recently rented a vacation home through another site www.pureholidayhomes.com and they seem a bit more upscale certainly in the design of the site. I rented this windmill in Greece http://www.pureholidayhomes.com/sant...lac-p2324.html

The pictures show clearly a "living" room. There is a red futon in the photo. That same futon is in the later picture about second bedrom in living room, with the futon just made up as a bed. You can see the same artwork on the wall above both, albeit from different angles. I would think the size would be sufficient for four people if you intend to be sight-seeing and out and about. If you intend on spending alot of time here, it may be tiresome to regularly make up the second bed from sofa to bed each night though.

I've use the UK version of Homeaway (Same company, but still retains its original name of holiday rentals) several times over the past 10 years and have been lucky enough never to have had problems.
