Holiday home for 14 people in Paris
Hello all
I am in need of some help. I am looking for a holiday home/apartment in Paris from 15 December to 21 December 2014 sleeping 14 people. With a budget of between €2500-€3000 for 6nights.
Thanks

Where have you looked already?
As you know, this could turn out to be a formidable task. I would start with VRBO and then throw myself on one of the agencies. Soon.
You are almost certainly talking about a house, and it is going to cost a lot of money, especially if you want to be in one of the more central areas. It is going to cost more than your budget in any case, which is a reasonable rate for a 2-3 bedroom flat in the 6th.
I don't believe you will be able to rent for six days only. You might find it easier to find a house to rent for a month than for a week, and it is quite possible that it could cost very little more.
Certainly in the US you would have a lot of questions to answer before renting a place this size. Is it a family gathering for your sisters and your outings and your aunts? Or is it a reunion of friends from university? Price and availability would very much depend on your answers to these questions.
Have you thought of renting all the rooms in a small hotel?

I don't think this is possible in Paris, either, unless you are a billionaire. Seriously, some celebrities could probably rent a massive private home like that in Paris, but not regular tourists.
YOu could try some of those high-end specialists for France who know about villas. Those would be outside of Paris, no doubt. There isn't any way in the world you can rent such a place for 500 euro a night. You need a place with about 6 bedrooms. 500 euro a night would get you a 3 bedroom place, 4 if you look and can find one. At least your dates aren't around Christmas, so there might be something if you don't want one house.
for example, here is a luxury apt rental service in Paris, they have one 4 bedroom place (that is typical, that an agency may be 1-2 of that size) and it rents for around US$1000 per night, which is more than 500 euro, and it's not in the most expensive location. It sleeps 8. But it isn't free those dates, anyway.

parisperfect.com has a lot of expensive apts that aren't too far apart, you could check them, but theirs are around 500-100 euro per night for a 3 bedroom, so you'd need two.

You appear to have 2 problems:
1) No apt is going to hold 14 people - it would have to be 3 apts near each other - and renting a house for that many people is not realistic in Paris (only deep countryside)
2) Your budget is not nearly enough for so many people
You may have a third problem. If this is a group of students or young friends many apts will not be rented to you at all. I was looking yesterday for a 2 bed/2 bath apt in paris - and they all seemed to require no children under the age of 12 - and that no one under the age of 25 was allowed without a responsible adult. Obviously they would not be hesitant to rent to one young couple but experience has shown them that groups of young people can frequently be unreliable.

Just a point - the OP could almost certainly book for 6 nights rather than 7. It would just mean paying for 7 nights. Fairly simple - and usually a one week rate is cheaper than a per day rate. Not that I think hr/she will find something for that many people at that rate
