Holesovice vs. Hlavni Nadrazi
I booked my train ticket from Berlin to Prague, and realize I booked into Holesovice instead of Hlavni, which as I understand is the main station in Prague. Is Holesovice waaaaay out of the way? I've never been to Prague..is it no different than, say, Kings Cross vs. Victoria or Gare du Nord vs. Gare de l'est? It IS in Prague proper, right?
For the record, I'm staying at the Lida Guesthouse at 4, Podoli.

Yes, Holesovice is out side of town - but really not that bad.
It's at the end of the n/s subway line, so it's easy, cheap, and not more than 10-15min ride to get to the central historic district.
Subway station is right at the train station.

It's just on the side of Prague where trains tend to be used for the north and west, like Berlin. It is not outside of town, it is in Prague proper (in district 7). I think it's a little easier to use than the main one myself, but as J62 says, it's only a 10-15 minute taxi ride from Old Town square, for example, and you can always go by metro if you want.
Are you sure that's the address of your place? Podoli is the name of an area or neighborhood, I didn't know it was a street name (it is district 4, maybe that's where your 4 came from). Unfortunately, it's on the opposite side of the city from HOlesovice and the main station would have been closer for you.
I just looked up that place, and that isn't the street address but the area, as I thought. Maybe you knew that, but you'd better find out the address so you get there correctly.

Curious as I am, I took a look.
Is this the place?
Lida Guesthouse
Lopatecká 26
Praha 4 - Podolí
If you have not visited their web site, take a look. They have a detailed explanation how to get from different railway stations and metro stops.

*sigh* thanks everyone.
