Hoetl Therese, Paris
I have just booked into there for end of next week. Anyone know the place to confirm its appearance as a pretty good 3 star hotel.

Travelnick,
I've visited the Therese in December. Absolutely beautiful small and charming place located on a very quiet street off Avenue de l'Opera (close to the Palais Royal).

If I ever decide to stay on the Right Bank, this will be my top choice.

A friend of mine (American) stayed there in February and absolutely raved about it.

www.hoteltherese.com

I have't stayed there but have read nice commens about it. The owners manage Hotel Verneuil also and that's another one that gets excellent comments (very small rooms but that's mainly how it is anyway in Paris).

Thanks Ursula and Francophile. Hope we have the same taste - rooms do look pretty good, but websites in my experience can be pretty deceiving.
|
Travelnick,

Any feed back of the Therese?
I am SO curious, because I wasn't able to see any of the rooms.

Therese Hotel was very good. Small rooms at ?125 are small - about 2 foot from foot of bed to wall. So they are a little claustrophobic. Bigger rooms are better at ?160 per night. Style is simple but very elegant and each room is a little different (eg. with colour). Service is good. Location great - street is very quiet and it is opposite a very nice old apartment building which is set back from the street so allowing more light into the rooms. We had to stay at nearby Hotel Normandy for one night - rack rate ?495, but paid ?200. Bit better room - but only in size, not style- but value for money definitely worse, even at discount price, at full rate simply outrageous. Therese is unlikely to offer discounts - it is very fairly priced for Paris hotels. A lot of other hotels at same price have far inferior locations or at comparable location are far more expensive.

Merci, so much, Travelnick.

I think, the Therese had special offers until end of February only.
Maybe, it will be worth checking the site from time to time.

Personally, being European, small rooms don't really bother me, as long as their are functional, clean, quiet, etc.
My impression of the Therese was very positive and I also noticed the nice building opposite.

Ursula,
believe it or not - it seems the building opposite is effectively a council apartments, owned by local govt and rented out (perhaps to friends of M. Chirac?)
