Hired GPS in Germany covering Austria and Switzerland?

I am going to hire a car from Europcar in Germany and request a GPS.

I plan to visit Austria and may be Switzerland, would the GPS covers maps for these countries?

Thanks

Yes. If you rent a GPS in Germany it will include maps of Austria & Switzerland.

It's treated as one region so the maps will always include those 3 mmostly German speaking countries. Makes marketing a lot easier. The map is commonly called DACH (roof) ("Deutschland-Austria-Confederatio Helvetica).

When you pick up the car you will want the GPS to be switched to your language. Most likely it will be in German so you may have to ask the staff how to get it into English.

Hi E,

Have you considered purchasing a GPS on ebay (or somewhere) and buying the European map?
