If you want an American style hotel, it is fine. Don't know the location so I cannot comment.

I assume you have points. Where are the hotels?

Yes, we will be using points on our hotel stay. Hilton Madrid is located by the airport. And the Hilton Garden in Sevailla is located in the fincial district. Any input is greatly appreciated!

You can find out more about them on Booking.
http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/madrid-airport.en.html?
http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/hilt...villa.en.html?
Not such a high score for either.
What do you "want" from your stay at these hotels?

If possible I would not stay by the airport in Madrid - it was a decent drive and you would spend time and money on transportation into the city. I loved being in the center city... and walking to where we wanted to go to eat etc - it was a huge more of being "in" Madrid.

We were just in Sevilla but I have no idea where the Financial district is. Do you have any Marriott points? There are several nice properties in Madrid.

I do have other points I am going to look into and definetly will add Marriott to the list. We will be using the hotel as a satellite location. Of course, clean and modern would be nice.

Marriott has some great properties in Spain. As I was looking to travel on Marriott points in Europe for our last trip - I found that Spain had a great variety of really good properties.

Don't stay at Madrid airport. You will lose too much time going back and forth to the city center. Find a central location.

Hotel Alfonso XIII in Seville is a gorgeous Starwood property if you have those points.

Should have added... I liked Marriott's AC Hotel Recoletos in Madrid. Good hotel and location.

Marriott AC hotels are great. Several to choose from in Madrid. Staying at the airport is not for touring, as mentioned. Just too far to go in and out. If they had a free shuttle in the morning and at night, I could consider it if I otherwise couldn't afford to be in a more convenient area. Taxi will be 20+ euros.
