Hiking Poles/Sticks
Hi,
I was wondering if I can take collapsible hiking poles on carry-on. I called the airline and the representative couldn't find a reason I couldn't bring them, but I just wondered if any one actually has brought them with. Does anyone know if I could rent poles in Chamonix, the Berner Oberland area (we're staying in Lauterbrunnen), or the Cinque Terre area? Thanks so much! |
both of these threads from other fora seem to say, no, you can't, but I, personally, have no idea.

No you can't. They are counted the same as a camera tripod and must be checked.

I love our Lekis. They are spring-loaded walking sticks that come be made into two pieces. I take them apart and put then in out suitcase.
