Highclare Castle

I've read on their website that the castle closes for the season September 6, except for a few special occasions. However, all of the tour companies (Viatour, etc) are running tours after that date. Does anyone know if these tours are only of the grounds? I doesn't seem worth it to me to not see the inside!

Viatour is NOT a tour company. Not sure why so many people think it is -- they just sell tix for other company's tours.

The castle is open for a few dates in the Fall - maybe 10 days in all spread over three months. But most of those are also sold out. If a tour company is selling tix in the Fall - they are probably for those few dates.

I'm pretty sure that the owners wouldn't want or even allow people traipsing around their property outside of the "open" days.

Tour descriptions would certainly note if interior visits are included--if not I would contact and ask.
