There were no restrictions on luggage when we traveled on the high speed ferries this year and last, but I almost wish that there had been. We brought way too much stuff as usual (!), and it was a real hassle to maneuver through the crowds and get the luggage on and off the boats. The few porters we saw were overwhelmed with the crowds, and couldn't offer much help.
A woman from Switzerland saw us huffing and puffing, and said very succintly, "Those who travel light, travel well."

Thank you, Weadles. Unfortunately my daughter had to take a large rolling suitcase due to the length of her stay. Glad to know she has the option of high speed ferries in Greece. I was surprised to learn that she was not charged extra for the overage (bag weighs about 45 lbs.) on the Aegean flight from Athens to Santorini. By the way, she reported both flights on Aegean (Rome to Athens and Athens to Santorini)were superb.
