Hi-Speed Ferry

What company has a hi-speed ferry from Chania to Santorini. I can't seem to find one that leaves from Chania. I'd rather not drive to the other pier on Crete since we are staying in Chania.

I checked out Hellenic Seaways but I don't see that option.

Unfortunately I don't think there is a connection between Chania and Santorini, only Santorini-Heraklion. (it's 2,5 hrs of drive approximately).

Cristine27 is correct. There is NO ferry, fast or slow, from Chania to Santorini. It is necessary to go to Heraklion.

There is an early-morning bus from Chania that will get you to Chania in time for the ferry departure to Santorini at 9:45. Take note of the no-sail dates.

Sea Jets Consortium will also have a highspeed (Magajet) between Heraklion and Santorini, but its sailings aren't confirmed yet. Megajet, a car-carrying catamaran, is new to the Aegean this year, and hasn't begun its summer season yet.

This posting is exactly why I advise people --- FIRST get your transportation lined up, then after that make your lodging arrangements. Not much of a problem here, the OP just has to drive or take a bus to Heraklion... but I have seen so many people locked into a hotel commitment on an island they either can't reach at the right date, or can't get off of, for their homebound flight.

Good advice travelerjan and brotherleelove. You guys are always 'spot on'. Luckily I noticed that the Heraklion/Santorini ferry stops running on Wednesdays on Oct 1, our original transition date. So we made adjustments before we even booked flights from the States to Athens.

Still looking at hotels in Oia, dreaming and deciding. Hopefully we have breathing room since we're not there until Oct. I currently have about 8 Mozilla tabs open with different hotel sites
