I just heard recently that when a retired person buys a home (in the US), they have to have a doctors certificate that their health is good..I guess if they need a mortgage. So perhaps Paris does the same thing, this man on the HGTV show was retiring.
* I loved the apt that they lived in in Portland.
* I thought she sounded spoiled, but at the same time, it is a shock when you see the size of some apts/kitchens/baths in European homes.
* I did not especially like the grey haired realtor..she had too many answers like - "well in Paris they do this and in Paris they do that...about the pipes etc. I was in a Paris apt and the kitchen was just like that but miniscule- granite counters, stainless steel..they go for the mod cons if they can! and none of the pipes were showing in our flat..that to me was typical realtor speak.
Where to next? Anymore countries or was that a one time special?

that was one week international..If it flys there will be more I guess... but not for a while.. I think it's a bit more expensive to do than House Hunters California....I wish they did Rome...my cousin married an Italian and they bought an apartment in rome(near the Vatican) and the previous owners took the whole kitchen....everything! and they said it was typical to take the kitchen cabinets in Europe...however if I paid 600 grand for an apartment I too would want a kitchen bigger than the ones they showed which were not as large as my mothers mobile home kitchen...My travel trailer had more than one drawer..

This must be within the last year, as I did not have to have a medical cert to get or refinance my mortgage in the US.
