Hermes Belts
Does anyone know the cost of ladies' Hermes belts in Paris? If they sell for $350 in the US, what can I expect to pay there? Thanks, Nancy-
|
Nancy: I bought a ladies' Hermes belt (black one side, camel the other) about 5 years ago at the Faubourg St.-Honoré store for about FF 1600.-- (=USD 220.-?). However, they are most probably more expensive now.

Nancy, are you sure they are $350? I could swear they are at least $450. What store did you see them for $350?
|
Ursula, Thanks for the feedback. My guess is that they will be around $300- now, if $220- five years ago. Have you ever come across Hermes at any of the resale shops in the 16th? Nancy-

Nancy, can you tell me a little more about the resale shops? prices and selection? i know all about reciproque, which i adore.
|
Nancy: I would be interested as well in that resale shop in the 16th. Do you have any address. I know of a shop Rue de la Pompe, 16th, (I think it's Reciproque) but never went in. I am not sure at all, if Hermès sells items to resale shop. They have however their own sales periods, at least did. I am not that much interested anymore in their stuff. I think there are more trendier things around like Prada, etc. But still, I do wear my Hermès scarves from time to time. They never get out of fashion, in my opinion.

Frankly, this is my first trip to Paris in ages so none of my knowledge is first-hand. All I know is what I've read in the guide books. Reciproque does seem to be the best known of the re-sale shops. I gather they have several stores one of which carries only accessories. I'm hoping to find Hermes scarves there. Ursula, to answer your question, the merchandise is "second-hand" from individuals not provided by vendors. I'll let you all know more when I get back. Nancy-

Nancy thanks. I am not really interested in second-hand clothes or shoes. I really do not like that idea. I rather watch out for other bargains during sales ("soldes") periods. <BR>
