Heritage Card
Does Anyone have information on the Heritage Card. Is it worth purchasing. We will be mainly in the west and southwest. Thanks

Cheryl<BR><BR>I persume you are talkig about visiting Ireland and purchasing the Heritage there. It depends on what sites you want to visit, whether they charge admission fees and what time of the year you are going to Ireland. I am Irish and I live in Ireland and I purchase a Heritage card every year and use it frequently on my travels through the country - check out the web sitewww.heritageireland.com - which has all the info on heritage cards which allow access to most sites'but not all,<BR><BR>Hope this helps,<BR><BR>Cathy

Which country are you asking about? it seems you mean Ireland and Cathy's answer is pretty comprehensive - but there is also a Heritage Pass in the UK. Clarify which country you are visiting.

Sorry I assumed because I was posting under Ireland that it would be realize I am interested in the Heritage Card for Ireland. Thanks for any info you can give me.<BR>

Cathy - a hint for next time. When you post with Ireland (or any other country) the post displays on the general Europeboard. That is how both Cheryl and I found your post. "Ireland" is only a choice to help folks who search for a specific country. Most simply access the board so the more detailed your question and/or title the better.

Oops - reverse the names in my last post. It should have been addressed to Cheryl. Sorry.

Cheryl<BR><BR>I understand the Heritage card is great, though it depends on what you want to see. Their website is http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/homepage.html<BR><BR>Also look at Ireland at a glimpse. I'm about to order it, and it's a great value. Their website is<BR>http://take-a-glimpse.com/ireland/ and it will tell you all about the discounts. But don't order it from them because you can get it cheaper at http://www.ireland-withpatpreston.com/money_savers_ireland_at_a_glimpse.htm<BR>You'll save about $7.00 at that site.<BR><BR>Hope this helps!<BR><BR>Bill

Yes, If you're spending anytime wandering around Ireland, the Heritage Pass is great. We bought it at the first place we went to that was a heritage site. Having the card (and the map that came with it) made us stop at really neat little places we might otherwise have passed up.
