Here we go.....family Xmas in Europe.

As always (but maybe not as much as previously) I've asked loads of questions, stalked lots of TR's and posts and we are now ready to leave. Just a quick run down, with promises of a TR on our return.

Dh, 2 daughters and their respective partners (I fiancé' 1 nearly fiancé') & I all going to spend Xmas in Mayrhofen Austria. We got a 'coupon' for a 5 night stay with half board and lots and lots of inclusions inc. a car each! at www.gutshof.cc . So we planned the trip around this.

'Kids' fly out tonight on Malaysia Airlines to London via KL, Dh & I go tomorrow on Singapore (b/class using points). We will meet up in London on Sunday and have 3 days together. All but one of the boys have been before, one dd lived there for 2 years. So this is for shopping and soaking up some xmas atmosphere & a catch up with friends & celebrating dd 26th birthday with a high tea at the Ritz.

The kids will fly to Munich, dh & I decided to catch the train via a one night stop in Paris. We've been before but never at this time of year, so one afternoon and a night will be fun, dinner booked at www.verjusparis.com .

We'll have a couple of days in Munich together to site see and spend time a the Advent Markets. (dh & I will actually be back in Munich next year for a 'proper' visit)

We then all make our way to Mayrhofen, fingers crossed that the drive wont be too scary?

5 nights to ski, play and celebrate our first European Xmas.

We then all part company, the kids heading back to London. One couple to stay in London catching up with friends & celebrate NYE in Edinburgh and the other to begin a Contiki tour & celebrate NYE in Paris.

Dh & I will fly to Madrid where we will pick up our first MotorHome we will have 17 days to explore. Planning on sticking to the coast and just going where ever, then a couple of days in Madrid before we fly to Amsterdam for our flight home. (using points this was our only option) We have been before so I've just booked us into www.restaurantdekas.nl for a final dinner in Europe before the very long flight home.

So thank you one and all for all your help, hotels, restaurants etc.

Sounds like great fun for all! I'm along for the ride.

No, the drive won't be scary. It eas -15C yesterday monrning, but starting today until Christnas the snow will be melting, some rain.
I'd strongly suggest, that you don't take the Autobahn to Mayrhofen, but the federal Highway. From Munich -> Bad Tölz -> Sylvenstein reservoir -> Lake Achensee -> Zillertal. Nice.

From Tölz, it's always straight ahead until Mayrhofen.
Funny, however, that someone travels around the world, to stay in Mayrhofen... :-) But then, People over here go to Australia as well.
