here is my Scotland tour so far...need help to finish
June 25/26 Edinburgh [two nights…Channings Hotel]
•Tour city [castle, Hollyrood, etc.]
•Rosslyn Chapel/Templar day trip
June 27 Trossachs [one night]
•Drive to Stirling [tour castle]
•Tour region
•B&B
June 28/29 Oban [two nights]
•Take circular tour [93 miles]
•Ferry to Isle of Mull/Iona
********************************
We need to get back to Glasgow for a flight to Shannon on the 1st. My question to this distinguished forum is can we go further north [Skye?] or does anyone have any ideas after Oban that still permits us to get the most out of our seven days and still catch that puddle jumper out of Glasgow on July 1. Thanks.

You are already moving around a lot so IMO you really shouldn't be adding any more destinations/regions. You could easily get as far north as Glencoe looping up from the Trossachs and then down to Oban on the 28th.

thanks, I think we might add another night in Trossachs and get ourselves in Glasgow overnight for a flight from there to Shannon the next day....never liked being too far from an airport on the day of a flight.

Unless you have a very early AM flight - I personally wouldn't stay in Glasgow. Places like Drymen, Aberfoyle, Loch Lomond are all a really quick drive from GLA (Assuming you are flying out of Glasgow and not Prestwick)
The west or south sides of Loch Lomond are less than 20 miles from the airport.

I agree with janisj. Definitely do not stay in Glasgow overnight. You would actually pass the airport to get there. Why not come down to Luss area which is the bottom end of Loch Lomond. (A82 road) Loads of B&B The nights are long (not dark until 10 pm at moment. You could easily take an evening run from Luss area to Helensburgh which will give you the most stunning views down the River Clyde. Coming from Luss on A82 turn right on to the B832 and just follow it right down in to Helensburgh.Make sure you come back in daylight as it is quite a narrow road going over the moors. Next day Continue down A82 over the Erskine Bridge on to M8 (signpost will be Glasgow/ Edinburgh)(Junction 30) and airport is off at junction 29. Enjoy Bonnie Scotland.
