Hi, y'all. The top post says that FRANCE is published in the UK 6 times a year. So maybe 29.95 for six issues is for a bi-monthly and that's a year. (?) J.

Hi all,
I found both of these magazines at Barnes and Nobles. I took out the subscription forms from inside the magazine, filled then out, and sent them. I did not buy the magazines; because I find when you subscribe to a magazine they send you the last issue they published, which is usually the one you just bought. I liked the look of the mags in the book store. As I stated I have received FRANCE and love it. It is the magazine that is published 6 times a year ands is $29.95. This company also publishes two other magazines on France. One is just real estate. I am happy to get a positive review of Belle Italia, as it has not arrived yet. They did send me a confirmation that they got my check. I agree that these make great presents. My sister is getting FRANCE for her birthday. Keep all the other suggestions coming.

If any long time subscribers would be kind enough I'd be grateful for information on which back issues contain articles about Bordeaux and the surrounding region that might still be applicable today.
I can buy back issues via the website but it's hard to work out which ones might be useful.

Incidentally the subscription rate shown for UK residents is £39.95 for 1 year which it indicates as being 12 issues...

Kavey, I don't keep all my back issus because I pass them on to friends who might want a particular area's articles.
Looking through what I have:
2003 feb. has an extract from Louise FranklinCastanet's book, "Bananas in Bordeaux, featured artilces are Chartres country, Peerpignan.Apri, 2003 has Bordeaux, where to find the best bargain wines, featured articles include Aube, one of Champagnes best kept secret and Gardens of Gravenston

I'd be curious to see what the issue says. We just did a good chunk of the Jacques Coeur route and the lower Loire Valley/Berry area (Sancerre, Bourges, Ainay le Vieil, Culan, Nohant, Noirlac, etc.). Although overall, we LOVED that area and are going back again in September, we also went to Aubigny-sur-Nere and found it very disappointing...full of British tourists eating ice cream and buying overpriced, not particularly high quality souvenirs. La Verrerie, outside Aubigny was nice, but the best part of that little area was the back roads drive through goat farms, etc., to Sancerre and down to Bourges.
