Herculaneum Baggage Storage
 

We will be stopping at Herculaneum on our way from Naples to Sorrento, and will have a large rolling bag with each of us. I checked with the Herculaneum ticket office and they indicated that they could only handle small luggage. Does anyone have any recommendations on Luggage Storage options between the train station and the site? I have seen a couple of locations but one is only open in the morning and another is closed mid-afternoon.

If you don’t find a storage place you like the look of, I suggest you just go on to your accommodation in Sorrento. It isn’t very far from Sorrento back to Herculaneum so not a time consuming effort to go back next day or whenever you have time. The site is also not huge so it doesn’t require a whole day to have a thorough & relaxed visit.

If you are travelling Naples to Sorrento by train, you should consider that the walk from the train station to the excavated site is about a mile, so dragging luggage each way may not suit you.

It is my understanding that there are commercial storage facilities in the area. You should be able to find them using google maps.
