Helping a Honeymoon couple - time of the essence!

Friends of ours are trying to put together their honeymoon and are starting a wee bit late. Trip begins on May 9th & ends on May 21st. They amazingly were able to get flights from NY to Rome and then Milan to NY. Now they need hotels - 4 nts Rome, 4 nts Florence, 2 nts Venice, 1 nt Milan. They want to keep the cost to a max of $150 US per night. Need to do this quickly, so please forgive my asking & not researching as thoroughly as I might on my own. Thank you Fodorites!!!

Ellen,

Do they trust you to pick them out? The website www.italyhotel.com can provide one-stop shopping, book them, dates and availabilty confirmed, rates known, and they can see on a map where are the places they have chosen - - all in one sitting. A bunch of recommendations here is one thing, but the real question is - - what exactly has availability when they need it, and at what price.

I can think of no better gift to them than to do this for them, or to sit down beside them, and walk them through it.

With a specific request from them, or you, I will do it over the phone, if you do not feel comfortable advising them.

My e-mail address is real.

Best wishes,

Rex
Hi Rex, thank you for the suggestions. I am a Rex fan, so I know your words are genuine. Yes, they trust me to pick the pensiones. They have never been out of the USA, & are happy for the assistance. I had given them all my Italy guide books, notes, journal, etc., months ago, but a family crisis forced them to 'back-burner' the trip planning. I will indeed go to the website you suggested & will e-mail you if I have questions. Thank you so much for taking the time to assist me.

See, Rex, there are "Rex fans" out there. I sometimes think there are folks out there who would find fault with Santa Claus, that's the only reason you are so maligned. So, for all those whom you have helped, thank you--even if they didn't say it.
