The Trocadero in the evening is the best place to see the Eiffel tower light up. The most fun too.
To see Paris without standing in line, go to the Tour Montparnasse. €10.50 for a view from the 59th floor. Restaurants: there are sooooooo many to choose from. Don't make a list. It will only confuse. The museum Carnavalet was very good. No lines and free of charge. The hop on hop off bus is very good. I really liked the Pere Lachaise cemetary. Creepy but interesting. Tell her to get a map before she goes in. The Louvre pyramid at sunset is also worthwhile to see. Not many people and the pyramid lights up a bit. I'm writing a trip report of Paris and have posted it under: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...e-in-paris.cfm |
<In the 5th there is a great street (can't think of the name) that has a wonderful outdoor market that is also the area where Hemingway lived and where he wrote A Moveable Feast-a must read if you are going to Paris.>
Rue Mouffetard! That's a perfect walk after the Marais itinerary. |
Good suggestions, thanks. Will let her know. She's in her 20's. First she was a bit "light" in her itinerary, maybe now she is a bit heavy.
