Help with traveling in Italy
My husband & I are going to Italy for two weeks and we are leaving next weekend. We are used to doing a lot on vacation so we have booked hotels, tours, & trains. We are flying into Naples and staying three nights in Sorrento. We then need to get back to Naples to take the train to Rome. We have never been without a guide, so I'm a little nervous about being on our own. We decided not to rent any cars. Please let me know what is the best way to get from Naples airport to Sorrento and Sorrento to Naples train station. We don't have anything booked in Sorrento. I thought we'd explore a bit when we arrive the first day. We'll have two full days, so what do you recommend? Capri, Amalfi, and/or Positano. I get motion sickness with curvy roads, so we'll go by boat rather than bus. I can take meds if the water is choppy, but I'm sure it will be much better than the bus ride.

Take the Curreri shuttle bus (10€) from the airport to Sorrento.

From Sorrento to Naples, take the local commuter train Circumvesuviana (4€) to Naples to catch your train to Rome.

If the water is choppy, they won't put into Positano. For Capri you can take a hydrofoil instead of a ferry. You might find it a smoother ride.

The hydrofoil to Capri is more like being on a large airplane than a boat. Just kind of drones along evenly. I went on a somewhat breezy day and I didn't feel like I was traveling on water. More like I was riding in a big heavy truck, headed in a straight line.

Thanks for the help. I've been to Pompeii. I might want to go to Herculaneum since my husband hasn't been to either. If we are unable to take a ferry to Amalfi or Positano, then we will probably do this. We are also going later in the week to Cinque Terre from Rome. We are staying there two nights. We arrive early AM on the first day and have another full day. Any suggestions about how to make the most of our time.
