We've decided on Lagos as the place to go (we're looking for great nightlife, beaches, and beautiful woman !! We're flying into Lisbon...do you know the best way to get to Lagos from the airport??? Also can anyone recommend any good places to say, bars to go to, activities to do?etc??
Basically any info you think would help we would love to hear from you!!! And is Lagos even a good choice?? (It's our first time to Europe) Thank you so much for your time!!! |
Gee, the only Lagos I know is in Nigeria...
|
I thought the same - and was about to reco the Africa Board. But apparently there is some sort of resort in Portugal with the same name - but I've been to Portugal several times and had never heard of it.
Perhaps someone has been there? |
Where do you think Lagos, Nigeria got its name? Portuguese traders and explorers were active on the east coast of Africa from the 15th Century onward.
|
uh ya, but Nigeria was colonized by the British, not the Portuguese!
|
Airlaw, things are oftenly a litlle more complex that they look at the first sight.
South Africa was colonised by UK, nevertheless where do you think the name Natal came from? Japan was never colonised by any European power, nevertheless where do you think the Japanese word for thank you (arigato) came from? |
Message: "things are oftenly (sic) a little more complex than they look at first sight"
Gosh, gee, really? thanks for that pearl of wisdom, lobo! |
P.S. and yes, I know you're of some British extraction-just by your spelling!
|
No need to thank, it was my pleasure...
PS: You should make a revision of your certainties |
nope. I stand by my last comment. I said extraction, not passport holder.

Lagos is not just a touristic resourt but, IMHO, the most interesting coastal town in southern Portugal.
Plenty of useful info in http://www.portugal-info.net/algarve/lagos.htm For those more interested in history of Lagos, Nigeria, I recommend http://www.ufok-africa.de/photos2.html kind regards |
