Vote in Brexit Referendum !

According to an article in The Olive Press, it is possible for expats to vote in the referendum if they have been on the voter roll in the past 15 yrs. For details go to the article. Sorry, I don't know how to post a link on my iPad.

And vote NO in my opinion as an outsider who follows British stuff keenly and is a flaming liberal anyway. Torries seem to want to turn back the clock on so so many things - will Maggie be brought back to life?

i think you may mean "yes" Pal ,rather than "no", though in fact that won't be a valid answer - the question is going to be this:

But the independent Electoral Commission urged the government to change the question to: “Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?”

ie - In or Out, not Yes or No.

Been away too long. We decided to not opt to vote in general elections when we left since our move was permanent, and what right did we then have to vote on the goings on in the UK? Plus we previously lived in a Tory stronghold so our vote was pretty pointless anyway.

I was reading a surprising number of expats in Spain will be voting to leave. The ones who have never learned Spanish or eaten Spanish food probably. The same ones who complain about immigrants to the UK filling the high streets with their shops and not learning English blah blah blah.

No, Heti, think the majority of expats in Spain would vote to stay in. They wouldn't want to go thru the arduous process of applying for visas and work permits and probably couldn't pay for private health insurance which all would come into effect with an exit.
