Dog, you did read what you posted? The take-home I managed was "don't read what others prefer and here are my preferences..." Just lost in the logic, still only MHO :-)

Yep, I think we are merely providing some hints of guidance to people who may or may not being doing their own research
|
I am appreciative to all who have offered "guidance". It is wonderful that you are willing to share your opinions/and information. For someone that has not have offered any guidance except, (that it probably rains a lot in Scotland, as if I didn't already know that)but only snarky comments. I have to wonder why "you feel the feel the need to make any comments". As you can gather, you did put me off, but it wasn't due to the rain.
I thought that was the purpose of this forum to provide guidance. I admitted I was just getting started in my research...I will get there through my own research and the guidance of those that are kind to share. |
Who was snarky????
>> thought that was the purpose of this forum to provide guidance. << Uh -- isn't that what you received? |
Yes, I did receive great guidance. I guess I didn't appreciate the comment from bilboburger.

Did you mean this one? >>Yep, I think we are merely providing some hints of guidance to people who may or may not being doing their own research<<
I think he was responding to a nasty post that has since been removed. Don't take it personally. From his history I think bilboburgler is a pretty decent guy. |
Yes I was responding to the article that was removed. Thanks janisj, hugs.
Camel, don't fret, happens all the time. I have only limited knowledge of Scotland, ok Mrs B has a degree from there, I've worked with the oil industry north of Edinburgh a bit, I worked in and around Glasgow for a bit, and I've holidayed in the Isles a fair bit but I don't know everywhere as it is a big place. When I plan to go I tend to go to the East side because the West sie is just wetter. I dislike midges and warn people of the things. Finally I still find Orkney so much nicer than many of the Eastern isles, I know they are marketed better in the US but I know which ones I prefer. But you have your plan and I didn't want to try and alter your objectives. :-) |
Thank you Janisj and Bilboburgler! All is well and I appreciate hearing from both of you. The last thing I want to be is a slacker! I am still researching...

If you want to take a half day to visit Rosslyn Chapel there is good bus service (37 bus on prince st) in front of Marks and Spencer from the city center to Roslin village and the chapel is less than a five minute walk there. We loved our visit there. We also went to Parliament and listened to the discussion over the NHS hacking. The Palace was closed as Princess Ann was there. Second time I have not seen so was bummed but good option.
Janis, the Travelodge on Rose St was good for four nights. We had the big room with huge bay windows. Last minute booking so we were happy and loved the Rose St Brewery close by. camelotdb, they have good food. |
