Help with restaurants in Amalfi coast
 

Please help me choose few restaurants in Amalfi coast. I need to pick 3 out of what's below. We love innovative cuisine, but also want something closer to traditional southern italian cooking.

Il Flauto di Pan - being in Ravello, view is awesome, but how does the food compare to others. I read a bit here, but additional advice is really appreciated given other options

Rossellinis - are their 2 stars really worth it? I would prefer a bit more of "italian" food rather than extremely modern. I've read both great and so-so reviews

Il Faro di Capo D'Orso - sounds very promising

Da Gemma - read great reviews, but how does it compare to rest?

Tramonto d'Oro - also very promising, but need to choose

Interesting. I have traveled to the AC 4 times in the last 4 years and I have never heard of any of these restaurants. Where are you getting these reviews? Where are you staying?

Have you tried reviewing the Italy board on chowhound.com?

If you have a smart phone, the app Amalfi Coast Travel Essentials has very good restaurant suggestions.

Majority are restaurants with Michelin stars and most have terraces and great views.

Ah, that explains it. I tend to save my Michelin experiences for the cities, when I will not be in my sundress and sandals. :-) I tend to like the smaller more casual places when I am at the AC.

I agree with EKC. I've been to the AC several times,(most recently last June) and only know vaguely about Tramonto d'Oro because its a hotel in Praiano with an incredible view.

As ekc mentioned, most places on the AC- other than at the hotels like Sirenuse and San Pietro- are very casual, and so good (!!) that we've never eaten anywhere else!

Wanted to add that one of the very best restaurants we found in the area was LA TAGLIATA in Montepertuso, a mountain village about 15 min by car from Positano. If you are staying in Positano, you may be able to arrange a free round trip transfer.Ask at the front desk of your hotel.

Food and views were out of this world.
