We only have 6 full days in Portugal and are trying to cover a lot of ground. We fly into Porto on a Monday night and will rent a car.
Trying to figure out the best places to stay a few nights at a time.
The first night is in Porto
From Porto we will drive to Coimbra and then Evora
We have a night in Evora - but could make it 2 or 3
WE also want to stop in the Algarve area
and go to the southernmost point where Henry the Navigator was.
Then up the coast to Lisbon (drop off the car)
see Belem, Lisbon and Sintra- leave on the following MOnday - midday
Tentative itinerary is
NIght 1- Porto
NIght 2, 3, 4 - Evora
NIght 5,,6, 7 - Lisbon

BUt perhaps it should be 2 nights Evora - 1 night Algarve or 2 nights porto, 2 nights Evora

We are 2 "middle age" couples that don"t mind moving around, love art , history, archealogy- . We will not be doing "leisure" activities like beaching etc.
Help greatly appreciated with sorting this out!

You are correct. Give yourself an extra night in Porto and take one away from Evora. Besides what is available in Porto itself, you might want to take a boat ride up the Douro river.

Porto, Coimbra, Evora, Algarve, Lisbon and Sintra in 6 days....I hope you have fun driving and see scenery from the car.
