Help with night walk of Rome
 

I recall reading about a walk one of the Fodorites takes in the evening in Rome. I thought I had copied it but could not find it on my notes for our July trip. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone here for all of your help. I have a notebook full of great info.

Are you thinking of the tour given by enjoyrome? That's in the evening. If you type in enjoyrome, scale reale and through eternity (all the tour companies discussed in previous threads) you'll probably come up with a discussion that you recognize.

There is also a walk I'm going to try out in a few weeks in Rick Steves' Italy guidebook (probably in his Rome book as well). It goes from Trastavere to Spanish Steps. Looks pleasant, you might want to check it out at the book store.

This was not an organized tour but someone's personal favorite walk. I have Rick Steves book and have written Through Eternity and Enjoy Rome for their tours. Decided Scale Reale tours were too long for the children. Will save them for an adult trip.

I took an Evening Baroque walk with Scale Reale and enjoyed it very much. I think it was 1.5 or 2 hours. It started at Piazza Navona and ended at the Spanish steps. The other Scala Reale walk I took was one half day at the Vatican. That tour was exceptional. Our guide, Liz, was so energetic and excited about everything. When we finished up I couldn't believe that four hours had passed.

I just found a thread entitled "Evening Tours of Rome." It has a pile of info.

If you decide to take Rick Steves walk from Trastevere to the Spanish Steps do not go alone at night. There's a stretch that's dark and scary. It's better to go during the day or at dusk before the night settles in.
