Glendalough: Seven ancient churches in various states of repair; two lakes; one of the most beautiful valleys in Ireland, with good walking, both on marked paths and off the beaten track. Worth much more than an hour.

Second point about Glendalough. Much more magical early in the morning or in the evening before or after the buses have come and gone. I prefer morning. Stay at B&B that is nearby and take a quiet walk before breakfast.
