Help with my 7 week Europe Itinerary

I am planning my first Europe trip. I have around 6 weeks off work and want to see some of the sights. I know this will probably be a fairly jam packed trip but I want to know if my itinerary is realistic.

Arrive London
4 days based in London, includes day trips to bath and Sailsbury.
Travel to Leed,
1 day Leeds visiting an old friend
1 day Tavel to Edinburgh
3 day MacBackpackers Isle of Skye tour
1 day Fly from Edinburgh to Belfast
2 days Belfast
2 Days Dublin
2 days Galway
1 Day Cork
1 day Dublin
1 day fly Dublin to Barcelona
3 Days based in Barcelona
1 day travel to Avignon
1 Day Avignon
1 day travel to Nice
1 day Nice
1 day travel to Florence
3 days Florence including day trip to Pisa
1 day travel to Rome
4 days Rome
1 day travel to Venice
2 days Venice
1 day travel Venice to Lucerne
3 days Lucerne
1 day travel Lucerne to Paris
4 days Paris
fly Home

I know these are only major cities, I am planning to flex upon these as I go but just as an idea of the area/region I will be in. I am travelling alone staying in Hostels in May - June of 2013.

So is it do able? How much per day would you average for spending?

Thanks HeyMem

Do-able? Yes. Enjoyable? Not in any way, shape, or form unless you like 2 solid months of head-spinning, exhausting, expensive travel.

What you haven't seemed to grasp is that, e.g., "travel to Avignon, 1 day Avignon, 1 day travel to Nice...etc., etc., etc. doesn't give you 1 day anywhere. And in most of the places on your wishlist, 1 day wouldn't be even barely enough to get you oriented to where you were, never mind any ability to actually visit anything.

You need maps, just for starters. You need train timetables. You need guidebooks (assuming you are actually interested in seeing anything in these places as opposed to just zooming from one to another). Start from there.

Seventeen different hostels in six weeks sounds like a lot. Also moving so much from place to place gets very costly.

You have 42 days, of which about 20 will be consumed by just travelling.

St Cieq's comments above are very accurate, and starting with a map makes good sesne.

I have to ask the question my mom always used to ask, "When do you plan to do laundry?"

Way, way too many 1-night stays for my taste, but this is your trip. Just keep a journal because you likely won't remember what you saw where.

You have the luxury of 6 weeks to tour - and basically try to go <i>everywhere</i>. IMO that will be a very expensive tour of the train stations of Europe.

Starts off on the wrong foot and doesn't get better.

"<i>4 days based in London, includes day trips to bath and Sailsbury.</i>"

That equals 1.5 days for London. Seriously inadequate. Your arrival day is half eaten up by logistics/getting settled and you'll probably have jetlag for at least a day or two.

"<i>1 day Tavel to Edinburgh
3 day MacBackpackers Isle of Skye tour
1 day Fly from Edinburgh to Belfast</i>"

So basically a few hours in Edinburgh. Why bother?

In fact the <i>only</i> places I'd personally be happy w/ the time you've allocated are Florence and Lucerne.
